Ava Bangdato  will be graduating from Fairport High School—She is sponsored by Tori Bagnato from Bird Morgan.  Ava has been involved in many service projects in addition to an extensive sports career- throughout her high school years. As she heads to University of South Carolina—to explore International Business with the goal to explore a career as an FBI agent. We wish you well.

Our next two honorees Katie Casey and Ellie Casey sponsored by Eileen Casey from Speech/Language Pathology – they are unable to join us today – as they have school activities tonight—Katie will be leaving a sports legend at Mendon as being on the Wrestling Team, she shared her experiences as a Camp Arrowhead counselors and her desire to serve others. She will attend  Monroe Community College in the Fall.  Katie was involved in the Best Buddies program at her school as well as numerous service events at her church.  She will  heading to MCC to explore the Radiology field. We wish them well—

Our next honoree, Joey Crescimanni who is sponsored by Erica from the Behavioral Health programs. Joey attended the Taft School in Connecticut—and played in many different hockey rinks across North America-following his true passion. In between early morning practices he was able to find his love of cooking with a dream of opening a family restaurant. He practices his hobby to help others –cooking/serving meals at the homeless shelters and daycares. In preparation for the restaurant-- he will study Business at Bentley University. We wish you well and we are sure you will hold us a table when the restaurant opens. Best of Luck Joey.

Kevic Gulley will be graduating from Greece Athena in a few days. He is sponsored by Victoria White-Gulley from OCA. Kevic shared with us some of the medical challenges he has overcome –be keeping a postive mindset and determination, while achieving high academics -Congratulations to the Athena Salutatorian -- He will head to St. John Fisher University  to explore Athletic Performance – Pre-Med—We wish you continued support.

We would like to honor Ryan Hurwitz from Brighton High school – He is sponsored by Laura Hurwitz from Instructional Technology. Ryan has spent a time or two on the hockey rink with a stick or with a whistle as a referee. Wonder if you know Joey?  He has had some work experience – in the supply industry as a part time job—and will expand his skills in his chosen career in global supply chain management—at Clarkson University—We wish you well.

Lucas Karelus will be graduating soon from Churchville Chili and is sponsored by Kristie Karelus, a PT in our Clinical Therapy department. Lucas will attend Monroe Community College in their Health Sciences Clinical Track program heading to a career in Nursing. He will also be on the MCC Baseball team –During his time in high school he participated in many sports programs achieving leadership awards in many. He enjoyed volunteering his time in youth sports programs throughout high school. We wish him well in the future.

MaryEllen Knickerboker from Deaf Educ. Is sharing Carolyn with us. She will soon graduate from Pittsford Mendon. In her essay, Carolyn shared her early interest in learning about and training dogs for police service—on K9 units—this interest headed her to explore a career in police science; with a worry that gender may have an impact on her career goals-she realized that that was not an issue. She has committed to be the best police officer she can be . We wish her luck as she attends SUNY Oswego.

We would like to introduce you to Colin Kosmicki Zappolo sponsored by Maureen Kosmicki from Nursing.—Colin was introduced to service at a young age as his family participated in  the Salvation Army bell ringing—Colin as only six when he realized there were kids his age that didn’t have a coat in the wintertime—That was the beginning—he started a coat drive that collected 100’s of coats—and he was recognized by the Today Show through their “kindest kid program.”—Colin will graduate from Pittsford Mendon and head on to SUNY Delphi – where we are sure he will continue helping that community. Congratulations Colin

Our next honoree is Cora Muller who will be graduating from Marion High School—She is sponsored by Jennifer Muller from Creekside.

Cora has held many leadership positions in Marion as Student Council President as well as the Board of Education Student Representative

She also has an extensive resume of extracurricular activities including many awards and achievements. We wish Cora well as she pursues a pre-dental program at Hobart and William Smith College—She understands the importance of providing dental care to all as it has such an impact on a person’s entire well-being. Congratulations Cora

Michael Popovich –sponsored by Jennifer Popovich from Audiology. He is unable to be with us today as he helping with a service event at Penfield High School tonight—He is headed to the University of Buffalo to pursue the field of physical therapy—We wish him well.

Claudio Povio sponsored by Brian Povio from Creekside is also unable to join us today as she has another commitment—We wish her well as she graduates from Fairport High school and heads to St. John Fisher to attend their nursing program.

Zara-Jade Neville is a student at Charles Finney school and is sponsored by Christie Neville from Deaf Education—Zara has an extensive resume – we think she might have been involved in every school activity at her school, from the arts, sports, student leadership, honor societies, and  service?—clocking over 300 hours in community programs—while achieving academic honors—She plans to begin her educational studies at MCC pursing a career in experimental and research psychology as she is very interested in brain science.  We wish her well.

Our last recipient is Alexander Repass who will graduate from Victor High School in a few weeks . His sponsor is Carolyn Repass from Behavioral Health.  If you ever attended a music or theatre production in Victor or the community—you might have seen Alexander on stage. He is performed in many productions and truly knows that the entertainment arts a very important to him as well the community. As he heads to SUNY Fredonia – we wish him lots of arts performances—Break a Leg!
